Our Mission Statement
On team 3181 our mission is to not only be a winning FRC team, but to also provide our community with a fun and engaging way to interact with STEM. Through experiences with our student-led team, members continue their futures with both advanced engineering skills and valuable teamwork experience.
Outreach Events We've Done!
STEAM CLUB
We started this club at Allen Creek Elementary 6 years ago. We have about 20 4th graders every year in rotations so by the end of the school year we have worked with about 40-60 kids. We meet one to two times a month and show the kids STEAM related things like how to build bridges, boats and more!
FLL
We started a FIRST Lego League Explore (FLL) Team at Thornell Road Elementary at the end of 2024. We had 30 students; 5 groups of 6. We meet every Tuesday and some Fridays for 4 months.
Red Wings
We went to a Red Wings Game alongside other teams to talk about Robotics and FIRST and to show off our robot. This was our first year doing this and we hope to keep going!
Board Meetings
For the past 3 years we have gone to the board a few times a year to talk to them about our team and how they can support us.
STEAM Day
Every year on STEAM Day we go to visit our Elementaries to talk to them about Robotics and how they can join in the future. We've been doing this for 11 years!
Went to a Football Game
This past year we went to the Modified Football Game with our mascot.
STEAM Talks At Schools
For the past few years we have gone to after school clubs to talk to them about Robotics and our team and how there is so much for them to do in the future.
STEAM Inventors
This year we started going to Thornell road to help with their STEAM Inventor Program. We go every Tuesday for 3 months!
Homecoming Parade
This past year we went to our homecoming parade for the first time in the team's history. We walked around the village alongside other sports teams!
Cabaret
For the past 2 years we have gone to the Cabaret to show off the robot to people that live in Pittsford and to raffle out a few gift baskets!
MakersFaire
We have gone to the Maker Faire for 3years . We go to show off our robot and let people interact with the robot. We also give away buttons, stickers and more!
Odyssey of the Mind
This past year we helped the Odyssey of the Mind kids with their robot and how to turn it on and program it!
