A big welcome to our many new members who joined the team as we begin another robotics season! During our last meetings, we introduced the FIRST Robotics Competition, started training in our various sub teams, and wheeled out our 2020 season robot, which was showcased at this year’s Ra Cha Cha Rukus!
In addition, two members of our business team, Noah Lucia and Feroze Ali, have started a STEM program in Pittsford’s elementary schools as a part of our club’s community outreach project. It will be a year-long afterschool program with fun, student-centric experiments, and hands-on activities to help students explore and gain an interest in the world of STEM. We plan to hold this program once every month after school! The outreach program’s first event took place this past Friday, where volunteers from our team assisted students in teaching the basics of architecture. The kids had a blast creating paper towers with our volunteers, while staying safe by wearing masks and following COVID protocols.
The next outreach event is on December 10th. If you’re part of the team and would like to participate, fill out the volunteer form on basecamp or ping either Noah or Feroze.
