Welcome to Pittsford Panther Robotics!
Forums - Up and Running! PDF Print E-mail
Share

Today, the Pittsford Panthers created a forum specifically for team use. We encourage all team members to sign up for accounts. It provides an easy way to exchange links, uploads, small files, ideas, and possibly send out mass emails to our team members. If you choose to sign up for an account, please make set your display name to by your first name and last initial to easily identify each other. Furthermore, while the forum is intended for team use, we have purposely left it open to the public. Others interested in the team or people from other teams may sign up and contribute to our discussions, help us if we're stumped on a problem, or use our ideas!

As there is currently no content to be posted on the forum, there is no urgent need for our club members to sign up. However, next year, it may be a good idea to get in the habit of using it.

Feel free to look at and sign up for our forum here!

The Competition PDF Print E-mail

The competition came and went. Battling through difficulties on Friday, we went on to succeed at a greater level on the second day of the competition! In our rookie season, we placed 31st out of 44 teams - very respectable, considering our limited experience as a rookie team. Although we didn't get picked by any of the top 8 seeded teams to compete with them in the eliminations rounds, we did excellently for our rookie season, and you should all be very proud of what you've accomplished. Hopefully we'll continue to build on our success in the next few years and keep moving forward to bigger and better things!

A few days ago, we finally had our robot online and working! Here's a video of us testing going over a bump. Check out our Youtube Channel for more videos of our robot, the game being played, and eventually, the competition.

On the February 20th, at 4:00 P.M., we will be hosting an “Open House”, at Pittsford-Sutherland High School, which is open to sponsors, our community, the school, parents, and anyone else! We’re using our open house to promote our team, our sponsors, and FIRST Robotics to everybody who comes in hopes of getting them interested in the program, and maybe helping us out next year. Come out and see what the Pittsford Robotics Team put together for their first season in FIRST Robotics.

Pittsford joins together PDF Print E-mail

Pittsford Panthers Robotics - Team 3181 - is comprised of students from both Pittsford-Mendon and Pittsford-Sutherland High Schools in Pittsford, NY.  This 2010 rookie team was formed in late 2009.

Students with many different interests joined the team, allowing us to form sub-teams for: Mechanical, CAD, Electrical, Web, Programming, Competition, and Spirit.

We’re so happy to be a rookie team and have all of the support that we do from the community, the schools, and other FRC teams. We feel like we’ve certainly established a strong core team, and hope to continue growing and expanding in years to come. Without the help from our fellow teams, mentors, sponsors, parents, and of course the kids, we could not have such a program to interest kids in the finer aspects of science and technology.

Everyone is learning new things and getting a taste of how real world problems are solved thru planning, process and teamwork.

We're all looking forward to meeting and coopertiting with all of the other teams at the Finger Lakes Regional!
